ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ÊÓƵ believes it is important to increase the use of sustainable modes of transportation to decrease negative effects on the environment as well as reduce traffic flow on campus.
Bicycle Commuter Reimbursement Program
In an effort to support sustainable practices and promote healthier lifestyles, the University offers a bicycle commuter reimbursement benefit. This allows for a monthly reimbursement of up to $20 for cycling expenses incurred by employees who ride a bicycle to work. Electric / Hybrid Vehicles
Facilities Planning & Construction and the ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ÊÓƵ Campus Police Department currently use 8 electric vehicles and 12 rechargeable golf carts in the course of their daily duties. ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ÊÓƵ's vehicle pool for staff and faculty use includes 5 Ford Fusion hybrids and a hybrid Toyota Prius. Electric and Hybrid vehicles help to cut greenhouse gas and other harmful emissions. They also save energy and reduce overall fossil fuel consumption.
